Reflections From The East is a monthly column published by The Santa Monica Star newspaper in California. Born in Shanghai and brought up during the turbulence of the Cultural Revolution, Qin has for over ten years brought her thoughtful and lyrical style to bear on a wide variety of topics, inflected with both Eastern and Western flavors that transcends mere geography to touch hearts and reveal universal truths.
